Reasons for decisionsI121.5

The court must announce at a hearing in public (but in the absence of the jury, if there is one) the reasons for a decision—

a

to admit evidence as evidence of bad character, or to refuse to do so; or

b

to direct an acquittal or a retrial under section 107 of the Criminal Justice Act 2003.
