2.—(1) Schedule 1 to the Statutory Sick Pay (General) Regulations 1982(1) (isolation due to coronavirus) is amended as follows.
(2) In paragraph 1, for “5B” substitute “5F”.
(3) In paragraphs 2 and 4, for “7” substitute “10”.
(4) In paragraph 5B, for sub-paragraph (b) substitute—
“(b)is staying at home until the date specified in a relevant notification.”.
(5) After paragraph 5B insert—
“5C. The person (P) has tested positive for coronavirus and is staying at home—
(a)for 10 days beginning with the day P first had the symptoms of coronavirus or, if earlier, the day on which P was notified that they had tested positive for coronavirus; or
(b)if P still has symptoms of coronavirus at the end of the period specified in sub-paragraph (a), until P no longer has those symptoms.
5D. Where P is staying at home pursuant to paragraph 5C,paragraphs 2, 4 and 5B no longer apply.
5E. The person lives with, or is in an extended household or a linked household with, a person (S) who has tested positive for coronavirus and S is staying at home—
(a)for 10 days beginning with the day (“day 1”) S first had the symptoms of coronavirus or, if earlier, the day on which S was notified that they had tested positive for coronavirus; or
(b)if S still has symptoms of coronavirus at the end of the period specified in sub-paragraph (a), S no longer has those symptoms.
5F. Where S is staying at home pursuant to paragraph 5E,paragraphs 2 to 5B no longer apply.”.
