The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 11(1) of the Football Spectators Act 1989(1).
The Secretary of State has consulted the Sports Grounds Safety Authority(2), in accordance with section 11(4) of that Act.
1989 c. 37. Section 1(6A) defines “the licensing authority” to whom any direction is addressed as the Sports Grounds Safety Authority; section 1(6A) was inserted by paragraph 7(1) of Schedule 2 to the Sports Grounds Safety Authority Act 2011 (c. 6).
The Sports Grounds Safety Authority, previously called the Football Licensing Authority, was established by section 8 of and Schedule 2 to the Football Spectators Act 1989, and renamed by section 1(1) of the Sports Grounds Safety Authority Act 2011.
