Amendments to the Plant Health (Amendment etc.) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020 E+W

5.—(1) The Plant Health (Amendment etc.) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020(1) are amended as follows.

(2) In regulation 52—

(a) for paragraph (1) substitute—

“(1) This regulation applies to plants, plant products and other objects, other than qualifying Northern Ireland goods, which—

(a) originate in, or are dispatched from, an EU Member State, and are introduced into Great Britain during the transitional staging period; or

(b) originate in, or are dispatched from, Liechtenstein or Switzerland, and are introduced into Great Britain after 25th November 2021 and before the end of the transitional staging period.”;

(b) after paragraph (3) insert—

“(4) In paragraph (1), “the transitional staging period” has the meaning given in Annex 6 to Regulation (EU) 2017/625 of the European Parliament and of the Council on official controls and other official activities performed to ensure the application of food and feed law, rules on animal health and welfare, plant health and plant protection products.”.
