Amendment of Part 3 of the 1949 Act (marriage under superintendent registrar’s certificate)15

Section 27B of the 1949 Act (provisions relating to section 1(3) marriages)46 is amended as follows.

In subsection (1), for “certificates of a superintendent registrar” substitute “a marriage schedule”.

In subsection (2), for “enter notice of the marriage in the marriage notice book, or in an approved electronic form by virtue of section 27(4A)” substitute “record notice of the marriage in the marriage register”.

In subsection (3), for “marriage notice book” substitute “marriage register”.

Omit subsection (3A).

In subsection (4), for “the superintendent registrar shall not issue a certificate” substitute “a marriage schedule may not be issued”.
