The Lord Chancellor makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 18A and 29(3) of the Judicial Pensions and Retirement Act 1993(1).
In accordance with section 29(2A) of that Act(2) a draft of this instrument has been laid before and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament.
1993 c. 8; section 18A was inserted by section 78(1) of the Pension Schemes Act 2015 (c. 8). The Lord Chancellor is the “appropriate Minister” within the meaning of section 30 of the Judicial Pensions and Retirement Act 1993.
Section 29(2A) was inserted by section 78(2) of, and paragraph 8 of Schedule 5 to, the Pension Schemes Act 2015.
