Coming into force
The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 112(1B) of the Energy Act 20131 (“the Act”).
In accordance with section 112(1D) of the Act the Secretary of State has consulted the Office for Nuclear Regulation and such other persons as the Secretary of State considers it appropriate to consult.
In accordance with section 113(2)(c) of the Act, a draft of these Regulations has been laid before Parliament and approved by resolution of each House of Parliament.
Citation and commencement1

These Regulations may be cited as the Nuclear Safeguards (Fissionable Material and Relevant International Agreements) (EU Exit) (Amendment) Regulations 2021.

These Regulations come into force on the day after the day on which they are made.
Amendment of the Nuclear Safeguards (Fissionable Material and Relevant International Agreements) (EU Exit) Regulations 20192
In regulation 3 (relevant international agreements) of the Nuclear Safeguards (Fissionable Material and Relevant International Agreements) (EU Exit) Regulations 20192 after paragraph (e) insert—

the Protocol, signed on 16th December 2020, between the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Government of Japan which amends the Agreement described in paragraph (f);
