EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations amend four statutory instruments relating to nationally significant infrastructure projects—

(a)the Infrastructure Planning (Applications: Prescribed Forms and Procedure) Regulations 2009 (regulation 2),

(b)the Infrastructure Planning (Compulsory Acquisition) Regulations 2010 (regulation 3),

(c)the Infrastructure Planning (Changes to, and Revocation of, Development Consent Orders) Regulations 2011 (regulation 4),

(d)the Infrastructure Planning (Interested Parties and Miscellaneous Prescribed Provisions) Regulations 2015 (regulation 5).

The amendments update references to Public Health England in lists of bodies contained in the above Regulations (lists of bodies to be consulted or notified) by replacing those references with references to the United Kingdom Health Security Agency. The United Kingdom Health Security Agency takes over relevant functions of Public Health England on 1st October 2021.

An impact assessment has not been published as no substantial impact on the private, public or voluntary sector is anticipated.
