Under Article 41 of the Charter of the United Nations the Security Council of the United Nations has, by a resolution adopted on 21st October 2022, called upon His Majesty’s Government in the United Kingdom to apply certain measures to give effect to decisions of that Council in relation to Haiti(1):
The Security Council of the United Nations adopted resolution 2653 (2022) on 21st October 2022 (“resolution 2653”). Paragraph 3 of resolution 2653 requires States to take the necessary measures to prevent the entry into or transit through their territories of all persons designated by the Committee established pursuant to paragraph 19 of resolution 2653 as being responsible for violence, criminal activities and human rights abuses which undermine the peace, stability and security of Haiti.
