2. In these Regulations—
“the Official Controls Regulation” means Regulation (EU) 2017/625 of the European Parliament and of the Council on official controls and other official activities performed to ensure the application of food and feed law, rules on animal health and welfare, plant health and plant protection products(1) as it has effect in Northern Ireland by virtue of section 7A of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018;
“the competent authority” means the competent authority in Northern Ireland designated under Article 4(1) of the Official Controls Regulation.
