Amendment of Regulation 2019/1241
8.—(1) Regulation (EU) 2019/1241 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the conservation of fisheries resources and the protection of marine ecosystems through technical measures(1) is amended as follows.
(2) In Annex 4 (measurement of the size of a marine organism)—
(a)after paragraph 9 insert—
“10. The size of bluefin tuna (Thunnus thynnus) is measured as the projected straight distance between the tip of the snout and the fork of the tail fin (“fork length”) as shown in Figure 10 and labelled as “FL”.”;
(b)after Figure 9 (swordfish) insert the text and image (Figure 10 Bluefin tuna) contained in the Schedule to these Regulations.
(3) In Annex 5 (north sea) in Part A (minimum conservation reference sizes), at the end of the table insert the following row—
| “(e) For extensions to and exemptions from the minimum conservation reference size (including derogations from Article 15 of Regulation (EU) No 1380/2013 (EUR 2013/1380)), see Article 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/1627 of the European Parliament and of the Council on a multiannual recovery plan for bluefin tuna in the eastern Atlantic and the Mediterranean Regulation (EUR 2016/1627).”. | |

(4) In Annex 6 (north western waters) in Part A (minimum conservation reference sizes), at the end of the table insert the following row—
