These Regulations bring into effect revised statutory guidance about the exercise by specified authorities in Scotland, as listed at Part 2 of Schedule 6 to the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015 (c. 6) (“the Act”), of their duty under section 26(1) of the Act. The revised guidance replaces such guidance as came into effect for specified authorities in Scotland on 18th September 2015 (S.I. 2015/1697).
The revised guidance was issued by the Secretary of State on 7th May 2024 in accordance with section 29(6) of the Act. It was laid before Parliament with a draft of these Regulations in accordance with section 29(5) and (7) of the Act on 7th May 2024. The revised guidance is available on the gov.uk website and a copy may be requested from Homeland Security Group at the Home Office, 2 Marsham Street, London SW1P 4DF or by e-mail to PreventDutyGuidance1@homeoffice.gov.uk.
