20. An offence under section 29 of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998(1) (racially or religiously aggravated assaults), where the offence that was racially or religiously aggravated was an offence under section 75A of the Serious Crime Act 2015(2) (strangulation or suffocation).

1998 c. 37. Section 29 was amended by paragraph 4(3) of Schedule 2 to the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 (c.17) and section 39(5) and (6) of the Anti-Terrorism, Crime and Security Act 2001 (c. 24).

Explanatory Memorandum
Explanatory Memorandum sets out a brief statement of the purpose of a Statutory Instrument and provides information about its policy objective and policy implications. They aim to make the Statutory Instrument accessible to readers who are not legally qualified and accompany any Statutory Instrument or Draft Statutory Instrument laid before Parliament from June 2004 onwards.
