The Social Security (Infected Blood Capital Disregard) (Amendment) Regulations 2024

Coming into force
The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 123(1)(a) and (d), 136(3) and (5)(b), 136A(3) and 175(1) and (3) of the Social Security Contributions and Benefits Act 19921, sections 12(1) and (4)(b) and 36(2) of the Jobseekers Act 19952, section 15(3) and (6)(b) of the State Pension Credit Act 20023 and sections 17(1) and (3)(b) and 25(2) and (3) of the Welfare Reform Act 20074.
In accordance with section 173(1)(b) of the Social Security Administration Act 19925, the Social Security Advisory Committee has agreed that the proposals in respect of these Regulations should not be referred to it.
In respect of the provisions in regulation 2(1)(d) and (e) and (2), in accordance with section 176(1)(a) of the Social Security Administration Act 19926, the Secretary of State has consulted with organisations appearing to the Secretary of State to be representative of the authorities concerned.
