The National Assembly for Wales, being designatedM1 for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972M2 in relation to the Common Agricultural Policy of the European Community, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by that section, makes the following Regulations:

Title, application and commencement1

These Regulations may be cited as the Import and Export Restrictions (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (Wales) (No. 9) (Amendment) Regulations 2001; they apply to Wales and come into force on 20th July 2001.

Amendment to the Import and Export Restrictions (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (Wales) (No. 9) Regulations 20012

Regulation 1(2) of the Import and Export Restrictions (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (Wales) (No. 9) Regulations 2001 M3 is amended by substituting the words “ 30th September 2001 ” for the words “20th July 2001”.

These Regulations implement Commission Decision 2001/547/EC amending for the sixth time Decision 2001/356/EC concerning certain protection measures with regard to foot-and-mouth disease in the United Kingdom (O.J. L 195, 19.7.2001, p.61). The Regulations apply to only to Wales. They extend the expiry date of the Import and Export Restrictions (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (Wales) (No. 9) Regulations 2001 from 20th July to 30th September.
