Title, commencement and interpretation1.

The title of this Order is the Welsh Development Agency (Transfer of Functions to the National Assembly for Wales and Abolition) Order 2005 and it comes into force on the day after it is made.

In this Order—

the “1975 Act” (“Deddf 1975”) means the Welsh Development Agency Act 19752;

the “Agency” (yrAwdurdod”) means the Welsh Development Agency;

“alien” (“aliwn”) has the meaning given to it in section 51(4) of the British Nationality Act 19813;

the “Assembly” (yCynulliad”) means the National Assembly for Wales;

“relevant employee” (“cyflogai perthnasol”) means any person who, immediately before the transfer date, was employed by the Agency under a contract of employment; and

“transfer date” (“dyddiad trosglwyddo”) means 1 April 2006.
