1.
(1)
The title of this Order is the General Medical Services Transitional and Consequential Provisions (Wales) (Amendment) Order 2006 and it comes into force on 1 March 2006.
(2)
This Order applies in relation to Wales.
(3)
2.
In article 86(1) of the (Wales) (No.2) Order (meaning of suitable experience), for “Until the coming into force of article 5” substitute “Until either the establishment of the General Practitioner Register pursuant to article 10(1) of the 2003 Order or the coming into force of paragraphs 21 and 22 of Schedule 8 to that Order, whichever occurs first,”.
3.
Article 31 of the (Wales) (No.2) Order (arrangements for GP Registrars) is revoked.
This Order corrects a cross-referencing error in article 86 of the General Medical Services Transitional and Consequential Provisions (Wales) (No.2) Order 2004. The Order also revokes article 31 of that Order. That provision disapplied a requirement for the consent of the Assembly for the employment of a GP Registrar for the purpose of being trained by a GP Trainer. The requirement for such consent in paragraph 63 of Schedule 6 to the General Medical Services Contracts (Wales) Regulations 2004 is removed by regulation 11(14) of the National Health Service (Primary Medical Services)(Miscellaneous Amendments) (Wales) Regulations 2006.
