Coming into force
The Welsh Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 19721.
The Welsh Ministers have been designated for the purposes of that section in relation to measures relating to food (including drink) including the primary production of food and measures relating to feed produced for or fed to food-producing animals2.
Title, commencement, interpretation and application1

The title of these Regulations is the Rice Products from the United States of America (Restriction on First Placing on the Market) (Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2008.

These Regulations come into force on 17 July 2008.

In these Regulations “the principal Regulations” (“y prif Reoliadau”) means the Rice Products from the United States of America (Restriction on First Placing on the Market) (Wales) Regulations 20083.

These Regulations apply in relation to Wales.
Amendment of the principal Regulations2
The principal Regulations are amended in accordance with the following paragraphs—
a
in regulation 2(1) (interpretation) in the definition of “feed authority” for “section 67(1)” substitute “section 67(1A)”;
b
in paragraph (1) of regulation 4 (enforcement) omit the words “or as the case may be district”; and
c
in regulation 5 (applications of various provisions of the Food Safety Act 1990) in paragraph (c) (which relates to section 32 — powers of entry) omit the words “or as the case may be district”.
