1.—(1) The title of this Order is the Local Authority Elections (Wales) Order 2014 and it comes into force on 9 December 2014.
(2) This Order applies to all local authorities(1) in Wales.
(3) In this Order, “the 1972 Act” (“Deddf 1972”) means the Local Government Act 1972(2).
Section 84(2) of the Local Government Act 2000 defines “local authority” as being a county council, a county borough council or a community council. This definition applies for the purposes of section 87 of the Local Government Act 2000, under which this Order is made.
