The Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies (Wales) Regulations 2008(23 are amended as follows.

In regulation 2(1), after the definition of “Regulation (EC) No. 882/2004” insert—
“Regulation (EC) No. 1069/2009” (“Rheoliad (EC) Rhif 1069/2009”) means Regulation (EC) No. 1069/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council laying down health rules as regards animal by-products and derived products not intended for human consumption and repealing Regulation (EC) No. 1774/2002 (Animal by-products Regulation);

For regulation 4(2), substitute “If a bovine animal, sheep or goat kept in approved research premises or its progeny dies or is killed, the occupier must dispose of it as a Category 1 animal by-product in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1069/2009, and failure to do so is an offence”.
