PART 1Amendments to secondary legislation referencing primary legislation repealed by the 2014 Act

(1)

Schedule 1 (absent voting at assembly elections) is amended as follows.

(2)

For paragraph 4(5)(a) (additional requirements for applications on grounds of blindness or other disability) substitute the following—

“(a)

the application is based on the applicant’s severe sight-impairment and the applicant is registered, in a register kept under section 18(1) of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014, as a severely sight-impaired person, by the local authority which is specified in the application; or”.

For paragraph 4(7) substitute the following—

“(7)

The fact that an applicant is registered as severely sight-impaired by a local authority in Wales in a register kept under section 18(1) of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 shall be deemed sufficient evidence that the applicant is eligible for an absent vote on the grounds set out in article 8(2)(c).”.

In the heading to paragraph 4 for “blindness” substitute “severe sight-impairment”.

In paragraph 11(1)(b) for “blindness” substitute “severe sight-impairment”.
