Defnyddir y term darpariaeth i ddisgrifio elfen ddiffiniadwy mewn darn o ddeddfwriaeth sy'n cael effaith ddeddfwriaethol – megis Rhan, Pennod neu adran. Mae fersiwn o ddarpariaeth yn rhagolygol naill ai:
- os nad yw'r ddarpariaeth (Rhan, Pennod neu adran) erioed wedi dod i rym neu;
- pan fo testun y ddarpariaeth wedi'i newid, ond nad oes dyddiad wedi'i bennu eto gan y person neu'r corff priodol i'r newidiadau hynny i ddod i rym.
Gall Gorchmynion Cychwyn a restrir yn y blwch 'Newidiadau i Ddeddfwriaeth' fel rhai sydd heb eu gwneud eto ddod â'r fersiwn ragolygol hon i rym.

12.—(1) Rhaid i’r darparwr gwasanaeth lunio canllaw ysgrifenedig ar y gwasanaeth.
(2) Rhaid iʼr canllaw—
(a)cael ei ddyddio, ei adolygu o leiaf bob blwyddyn aʼi ddiweddaru fel y bo angen,
(b)bod mewn iaith, arddull, cyflwyniad a fformat syʼn briodol i blant (o bob oedran a dealltwriaeth) ac oedolion,
(c)cael ei roi i—
(i)unrhyw blentyn sydd wedi ei leoli gan y darparwr gwasanaeth,
(ii)unrhyw rieni maeth a darpar rieni maeth,
(iii)yr awdurdod lleoli, a
(d)cael ei roi ar gael i eraill ar gais, oni bai nad yw hyn yn briodol neu y byddaiʼn anghyson â llesiant y plentyn.
(3) Rhaid iʼr canllaw gynnwys y canlynol—
(a)crynodeb o’r polisïau a’r gweithdrefnau y mae rhaid i’r darparwr gwasanaeth eu rhoi yn eu lle o dan reoliad 9(1)(a), (b), (c), (d), (e), (f), (i) a (k),
(b)gwybodaeth am sut i wneud cwyn,
(c)gwybodaeth am argaeledd gwasanaethau eirioli i blant syʼn derbyn gofal gan awdurdod lleol,
(d)gwybodaeth am rôl a manylion cyswllt Comisiynydd Plant Cymru.
(4) Rhaid i’r darparwr gwasanaeth sicrhau bod plant yn cael unrhyw gymorth sy’n angenrheidiol i’w galluogi i ddeall yr wybodaeth a gynhwysir yn y canllaw.
