The Welsh Ambulance Services National Health Service Trust (Establishment) (Amendment) Order 2024

The Welsh Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 18(1), 203 and 204(1) of, and paragraph 5(1)(a) of Schedule 3 to, the National Health Service (Wales) Act 2006(1), after completion of the consultation prescribed under section 18(3) of that Act, make the following Order:

Title, coming into force and interpretation

1.—(1) The title of this Order is the Welsh Ambulance Services National Health Service Trust (Establishment) (Amendment) Order 2024 and it comes into force on 1 April 2024.

(2) In this Order, “the principal Order” means the Welsh Ambulance Services National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order 1998(2).

Amendment of article 1 of the principal Order

2.  In article 1(2) of the principal Order, in the definition of “the trust”, for “Welsh Ambulance Services National Health Service Trust” substitute “Welsh Ambulance Services University National Health Service Trust”.

Amendment of article 2 of the principal Order

3.  For article 2 of the principal Order substitute—

2.    Establishment of the trust

There is hereby established an NHS trust which shall be called Welsh Ambulance Services University National Health Service Trust or Ymddiriedolaeth Brifysgol Gwasanaeth Iechyd Gwladol Gwasanaethau Ambiwlans Cymru.”

Saving

4.  The change of name effected by article 3 does not—

(a)affect any right or obligation of any person, or

(b)invalidate any instrument (whether made before, on or after the day on which this Order comes into force) which refers to Welsh Ambulance Services National Health Service Trust, and all instruments or other documents which refer to that name must be construed as referring to the trust.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order amends the Welsh Ambulance Services National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order 1998 (“the principal Order”) to change the name of Welsh Ambulance Services National Health Service Trust to Welsh Ambulance Services University National Health Service Trust.
