The Local Government Finance Act 1992 (Commencement No. 7 and Amendment) Order 1993

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 119(2) of the Local Government Finance Act 1992(1), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation

1.  This Order may be cited as the Local Government Finance Act 1992 (Commencement No. 7) Order 1993.

Provisions coming into force on 1st April 1993

2.  The following provisions of the Local Government Finance Act 1992 shall come into force on 1st April 1993—

(a)paragraphs 1, 27, 28 and 94 of Schedule 13; and

(b)so much of Schedule 14 as relates to the Local Government Finance and Valuation Act 1991(2).

Pecuniary interests of local authority members

3.—(1) Article 3(1)(a) of the Local Government Finance Act 1992 (Commencement No. 6 and Transitional Provision) Order 1992(3) is amended by the deletion of the figures “32,”.

(2) Paragraph 32 of Schedule 13 to the Local Government Finance Act 1992 shall come into force on 1st February 1993.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order provides for the commencement of certain provisions of the Local Government Finance Act 1992 (“the Act”)

Article 2 brings into force on 1st April 1993 paragraphs 1, 27, 28 and 94 of Schedule 13 to the Act and so much of Schedule 14 to the Act as repeals the Local Government Finance and Valuation Act 1991.

Article 3 provides that paragraph 32 of Schedule 13 to the Act is to come into force on 1st February 1993. The Local Government Finance Act 1992 (Commencement No. 6 and Transitional Provision) Order 1992, which provided for the commencement of that provision on 1st April 1993, is amended accordingly.
