The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the power conferred by section 2(2) of the Down Syndrome Act 2022(1).
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Down Syndrome Act 2022 (Commencement) Regulations 2024.
2. The provisions of the Down Syndrome Act 2022 come into force on 18th March 2024.

These Regulations bring into force, on 18 March 2024, the Down Syndrome Act 2022. The Down Syndrome Act 2022 imposes a duty on the Secretary of State to give guidance to certain public authorities specified in the Act about how to meet the needs of persons with Down Syndrome when exercising certain specified functions.
