1SWhen the Lord President is making an appointment of a judicial member under paragraph 2(a) of schedule 1 of the Judiciary and Courts (Scotland) Act 2008, the Lord President must act with a view to achieving the gender representation objective in relation to the judicial members only.

(b)references in this Act to the making of an appointment are to be construed as references to the making of a recommendation under that section.
