JUSTICE

The Justice (Northern Ireland) Act 2002 (Commencement No. 7) Order 2004

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 87 of the Justice (Northern Ireland) Act 2002(1), hereby makes the following Order:

1.  This Order may be cited as the Justice (Northern Ireland) Act 2002 (Commencement No. 7) Order 2004.

2.—(1) The following provisions of the Justice (Northern Ireland) Act 2002 shall come into force on 1st January 2005.

(2) The provisions referred to in paragraph (1) above are –

(a)section 85 (1) to the extent necessary to bring into force the provisions of Schedule 12 (minor and consequential amendments) mentioned below; and

(b)paragraphs 63 and 64 of Schedule 12 in so far as those paragraphs relate to the Chief Inspector of Criminal Justice in Northern Ireland.

Explanatory Note

This Order brings into force on 1st January 2005 the provisions of the Justice (Northern Ireland) Act 2002 set out in Article 2.
