The Department of Finance and Personnel makes the following Order, in exercise of the powers conferred by Articles 3(4) and (7) of the Superannuation (Northern Ireland) Order 1972(1) and now vested in it(2).

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Superannuation (Commissioner of the Northern Ireland Law Commission) Order (Northern Ireland) 2012, and shall come into operation on 14th March 2012.

Addition to list of offices

2.  There shall be added to the offices listed in Schedule 1 to the Superannuation (Northern Ireland) Order 1972 with effect from 1st February 2012, the office of Commissioner of the Northern Ireland Law Commission(3).

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order adds the office of Commissioner of the Northern Ireland Law Commission to the offices listed in Schedule 1 to the Superannuation (Northern Ireland) Order 1972 for which the Department of Finance and Personnel may make pension schemes.

The office of Commissioner of the Northern Ireland Law Commission was established by section 50 of and Schedule 9 to the Justice (Northern Ireland) Act 2002 (C.26) as amended by paragraphs 8 and 25 of Schedule 13 to the Northern Ireland Act 1998 (Devolution of Policing and Justice Functions) Order 2010 ( S.I. 2010/976)
