The Minister of Health, as the appropriate Minister for the purposes of
1. This order may be cited as the London Authorities (Miscellaneous Health Provisions) Order 1965 and shall come into operation on 1st April 1965.
2.—(1) In this order, unless the context otherwise requires, references to any enactment or instrument shall be construed as references to that enactment or instrument as amended, extended or applied by or under any other enactment or instrument or by this order.
(2) The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply to the interpretation of this order as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.
3. Section 16(1) of the Food and Drugs Act 1955 shall apply throughout Greater London:
4. The instruments specified in Schedule 1 to this order shall have effect subject to the provisions of that Schedule.
5. The regulations specified in Schedule 2 to this order, being regulations made under public general Acts applying to London, or under other public general Acts in respect of particular areas, are hereby revoked to the extent mentioned in the third column of the said Schedule.

Article 4
1. In the Order of the Local Government Board dated 19th September 1900 making regulations as to the notification of plague as an infectious disease(1)—
(a)in regulation I for the words “and in the Administrative County of London every Sanitary Authority for the execution of the Public Health (London) Act, 1891” there shall be substituted the words “and the council of a London borough, the Common Council of the City of London or the Sub-Treasurer of the Inner Temple or Under-Treasurer of the Middle Temple”; and
(b)in regulation II the words “which is situate without the Administrative County of London” and the second paragraph shall be omitted.
2. In the Public Health (Ophthalmia Neonatorum) Regulations 1926 as amended(2), for references to a metropolitan borough there shall be substituted references to a London borough, and references to a local authority shall be deemed to include references to the Common Council of the City of London and to the council of a London borough.
3. In the Measles and Whooping Cough Regulations 1940 as amended(3), references to a local authority shall be deemed to include references to the Common Council of the City of London and to the council of a London borough.
4. In the Jaundice Regulations 1943 as amended(4):—
(a)for the words “and to the county boroughs” in regulation 1(2) there shall be substituted the words “to the county boroughs and to the London borough” and the word “county”, where that word last appears, shall be omitted;
(b)references to a local authority shall be deemed to include references to the council of the London borough of Havering; and
(c)for the first schedule thereto there shall be substituted—
Administrative counties or parts thereof:— | Bedford (except so much thereof as was prior to 1st April 1965 comprised in the urban district of Linslade in the county of Buckingham), Cambridgeshire and Isle of Ely, Essex (except the urban districts of Chigwell and Waltham Holy Cross), Hertford (except the urban districts of Bushey, Cheshunt and Potters Bar and the rural district of Elstree), Huntingdon and Peterborough (except the city of Peterborough and the rural districts of Barnack and Peterborough), Norfolk, Suffolk, East and Suffolk, West. |

5. In the Registration (Births, Still-births, Deaths and Marriages) Consolidated Regulations 1954(5), in regulation 2(2), for references to a metropolitan borough there shall be substituted references to a London borough, and the words `“county”
6. In the Marriages (Authorised Persons) Regulations 1952(6), in regulations 10 and 13(1), for references to a metropolitan borough there shall be substituted references to a London borough.
7. In the following regulations, for references to a metropolitan borough and to the council of a metropolitan borough there shall be substituted references to a London borough and to the council of a London borough respectively:—
(a)Regulations of the Local Government Board, dated November 10th 1910, for preventing Plague by the destruction of rats, and for preventing their entrance into buildings and other premises(7).
(b)The Public Health (Prevention of Tuberculosis) Regulations 1925(8).
(c)The Public Health (Small-pox Prevention) Regulations 1917(9).
(d)The Public Health (Acute Poliomyelitis, Acute Encephalitis, and Meningococcal Infection) Regulations 1949(10).
(e)The Public Health (Leprosy) Regulations 1951(11).
(f)The Puerperal Pyrexia Regulations 1951(12).
(g)The Public Health (Tuberculosis) Regulations 1952(13).
(h)The Public Health (Infectious Diseases) Regulations 1953(14).

This order makes provision with regard to infectious diseases and registration service matters in Greater London by modifying or repealing certain existing instruments.
The order also applies the provisions of section 16(1) of the Food and Drugs Act 1955 (which relates to the registration of premises used for the manufacture and sale of certain foods) throughout Greater London.
