The First Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 3A(1) of Schedule 14 to the Environment Act 1995(1), makes the following Order:
1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Periodic Review of Mineral Planning Permissions (Conygar Quarry) Order 2006 and shall come into force on 3rd March 2006.
(2) This Order applies in relation to the mining site known as Conygar Quarry, Norton’s Wood Lane, Clevedon, Somerset (Conygar Quarry) in respect of which an interim development order permission for the development of mineral workings was granted on 12 November 1947 and registered by Avon County Council on 21 August 1992(2) pursuant to section 22 of, and Schedule 2 to, the Planning and Compensation Act 1991(3).
2. For the purposes of Schedule 14 to the Environment Act 1995 (periodic review of mineral planning permissions) the first review date in relation to Conygar Quarry is 4th June 2007.

Schedule 14 to the Environment Act 1995 provides for the periodic review of the planning permissions for minerals development relating to a mining site (other than planning permission granted by development order). The first review date, in relation to a mining site, is determined in accordance with paragraph 3 of the Schedule, but this is subject to paragraph 3A(1) which gives the Secretary of State power, by order, to specify a different first review date.
This Order specifies 4th June 2007 as the first review date for Conygar Quarry, Norton’s Wood Lane, Clevedon, Somerset.
