The Welsh Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 146(4)(b) of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014(1), make the following Order:
1.—(1) The title of this Order is the Revised Code of Practice on the exercise of social services functions in relation to Part 4 (direct payments and choice of accommodation) and Part 5 (charging and financial assessment) of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 (Appointed Day) (Wales) Order 2017.
(2) This Order applies in relation to Wales.
(3) In this Order, “the Revised Code” (“y Cod Diwygiedig”) means the Code of Practice on the exercise of social services functions in relation to Part 4 (direct payments and choice of accommodation) and Part 5 (charging and financial assessment) of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014), a draft of which was laid before the National Assembly for Wales on 28 February 2017 and was issued by the Welsh Ministers on 9 April 2017.
2. The day appointed for the coming into force of the Revised Code is 10 April 2017.

This Order appoints 10 April 2017 as the day on which the revised Code of Practice on the exercise of social services functions in relation to Part 4 (direct payments and choice of accommodation) and Part 5 (charging and financial assessment) of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 comes into force. This Code was issued by the Welsh Ministers under section 145(1) of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 (“the 2014 Act”) on 9 April 2017.
Section 145(3) of the 2014 Act requires local authorities to act in accordance with any relevant requirements contained in a code issued under section 145(1) and to have regard to any relevant guidelines contained in it.
The revised Code includes changes brought about by the Care and Support (Choice of Accommodation, Charging and Financial Assessment) (Miscellaneous Amendments) (Wales) Regulations 2017 (S.I. 2017/214 (W. 58)).
