Citation and commencement

1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Registration of Births, Still-births and Deaths (Prescription of Forms and Attestation) (Miscellaneous Amendment) (Scotland) Regulations 2022 and come into force on 24 September 2022.

Amendment of the Registration of Births, Still-births, Deaths and Marriages (Prescription of Forms) (Scotland) Regulations 1997

2.—(1) The Registration of Births, Still-births, Deaths and Marriages (Prescription of Forms) (Scotland) Regulations 1997(1) are amended as follows.

(2) For regulation 3 substitute—

3.(1) The form set out in schedule 1 is the prescribed form of birth registration form for the birth of a child for the purposes of sections 14(1A)(a)(ii) and 21A(2).

(2) The particulars required for the completion of the form mentioned in paragraph (1) are the prescribed particulars to be registered in a register of births for the purposes of section 13(1)..

(3) For regulation 4 substitute—

4.(1) The form set out in schedule 2 is the prescribed form of birth registration form for a still-born child for the purposes of sections 14(1A)(a)(ii) and 21A.

(2) The particulars required for the completion of the form mentioned in paragraph (1) are the prescribed particulars to be registered in a register of still-births for the purposes of section 13(1)..

(4) For regulation 12 substitute—

12.(1) The form set out in schedule 10 is the prescribed form of death registration form for the purposes of sections 23(1A)(a)(ii) and 28A(3).

(2) The particulars required for the completion of the form mentioned in paragraph (1) are the prescribed particulars to be registered in a register of deaths for the purposes of section 22(1)..

(5) For the form in schedule 3, substitute the form in schedule 1 of these Regulations.

(6) For the form in schedule 4, substitute the form in schedule 2 of these Regulations.

(7) For the form in schedule 12, substitute the form in schedule 3 of these Regulations.

(8) For the form in schedule 13, substitute the form in schedule 4 of these Regulations.

Amendment of the Registration Services (Attestation and Authentication) (Scotland) Regulations 2006

3.—(1) The Registration Services (Attestation and Authentication) (Scotland) Regulations 2006(4) are amended as follows.

(2) In regulation 2(a) (manner of attestation)—

(a)after “sections” insert “14(1A)(a)(ii) and (1C)(a)(i),”,

(b)for “16(1)(c)” substitute “16(1)(c)(i)(5)”,

(c)after “18(1)(a)” insert “and (4)(a)(i), 18B(4)(a)(i)”,

(d)after “21(2)(a),” insert “23(1A)(a)(ii) and (1C)(a)(i),”,

(e)for “25(1)(c)” substitute “25(1)(c)(i)(6)”.
