The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 59D(4)(a) of the Justices of the Peace Act 1997(1), makes the following Regulations:
1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Greater London Magistrates' Courts Authority (Financial Administration) Regulations 2000 and shall come into force on 6th November 2000.
(2) In these Regulations, “the Authority” means the Greater London Magistrates' Courts Authority referred to in section 30A(1) of the Justices of the Peace Act 1997(2).
2. Part VIII (financial administration) of the Local Government Finance Act 1988(3) shall apply to the Authority as if—
(a)the Authority were a relevant authority for the purposes of that Part;
(b)references to “the commencement day” were references to 1st April 2001;
(c)the Authority were an authority mentioned in section 112(2)(4);
(d)in section 112(1), after the words “financial affairs” there were added the words “in accordance with section 59D(3)(b) of the Justices of the Peace Act 1997(5)”;
(e)in section 114(3A)(6), for paragraphs (a) and (b) there were substituted the words “with the justices' chief executive for the Greater London Magistrates' Courts Authority”;
(f)in section 115(4), for the words “Section 101 of the 1972 Act” there were substituted the words “Section 30C(1) and (2) of the Justices of the Peace Act 1997(7)”.

These Regulations apply Part VIII of the Local Government Finance Act 1988 (financial administration) to the Greater London Magistrates' Courts Authority with modifications.
1997 c. 25. Section 59D(4) was inserted into the Justices of the Peace Act 1997 by section 83(2) of the Access to Justice Act 1999 (c. 22).
Section 30A(1) was inserted into the Justices of the Peace Act 1997 by section 83(1) of the Access to Justice Act 1999 (c. 22).
Section 112(2) was amended by the Police and Magistrates' Courts Act 1994 (c. 29), Schedule 4, Part I, paragraph 33; the Police Act 1996 (c. 16), Schedule 7, paragraph 1(2)(zb); and the Police Act 1997 (c. 50), Schedule 6, paragraph 27.
Section 59D(3)(b) is inserted into the Justices of the Peace Act 1997 by section 83(2) of the Access to Justice Act 1999 (c. 22). That part of section 83(2) which inserts section 59D(3)(b) into the Justices of the Peace Act 1997 comes into force on such day as the Lord Chancellor may by order appoint.
Section 114(3A) was inserted into the Local Government Finance Act 1988 by the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 (c. 42), Schedule 5, paragraph 66.
Section 30C was inserted into the Justices of the Peace Act 1997 by section 83(1) of the Access to Justice Act 1999 (c. 22).
