The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon her by paragraph 2(1) of Schedule 6 to the National Lottery etc. Act 1993(1) hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Millennium Commission (Reduction in Membership) Order 2005 and shall come into force on 1st October 2005.
2.—(1) In paragraph 1(1) of Schedule 6 to the National Lottery etc. Act 1993 substitute “seven” for “eight”.
(2) For paragraph 1(1)(a) of Schedule 6 to the National Lottery etc. Act 1993 substitute “one shall be a Minister of the Crown, and”.

This Order reduces the number of members to be appointed to the Millennium Commission (established under section 40 of the National Lottery etc. Act 1993) from eight to seven. The Order also reduces the number of members who must be Ministers of the Crown from two to one.
