Her Majesty, in exercise of the power conferred upon Her by section 37(2) of the British Nationality Act 1981(1), by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, orders as follows.
1. This Order may be cited as the British Nationality (The Gambia) Order 2015 and comes into force on 12th November 2015.
2. In Schedule 3 to the British Nationality Act 1981(2) (countries whose citizens are Commonwealth citizens), omit “The Gambia”.

Article 2 of this Order removes The Gambia from Schedule 3 to the British Nationality Act 1981, which lists the countries whose citizens are Commonwealth citizens.
An impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sector is foreseen.
Schedule 3 has been amended by section 1 of, and the Schedule to, the Brunei and Maldives Act 1985 (c. 3), S.I. 1983/882, S.I. 1983/1699, S.I. 1989/1331, S.I. 1990/1502, S.I. 1994/1634, S.I. 1998/3161 and S.I. 2010/246.
