Having regard to Council Directive 2000/29/EC of 8 May 2000 on protective measures against the introduction into the Community of organisms harmful to plants or plant products and against their spread within the Community(1), and in particular the fourth sentence of Article 16(3) thereof,

(2) Point 16 of Section I of Part A of Annex IV to Directive 2000/29/EC provides for special requirements for the introduction and movement into and within the Union of fruits of Citrus L., Fortunella Swingle, and Poncirus Raf and their hybrids.
(3) Commission Implementing Directive (EU) 2017/1279(2) introduced point 16.4(e) in Section I of Part A of Annex IV to Directive 2000/29/EC.
