(1)Notwithstanding the repeal by this Act of the M1Highways Act 1959—
(a)subsection (10) of section 3 of the M2Parish Councils Act 1957 (which was inserted by section 310 of the Highways Act 1959 and defines “road” for the purposes of the said section 3) continues to have effect, but subject to the amendments made to that subsection, in consequence of this Act, by Schedule 24 to this Act;
(b)the enactments mentioned in Schedule 22 to the said Act of 1959 continue to have effect with the amendments there made but subject, in the case of such of those enactments as are mentioned in Schedule 24 to this Act, to the amendments made, in consequence of this Act, by the said Schedule 24.
(2)Notwithstanding the repeal by this Act of the M3Highways Act 1971 (referred to below as “the 1971 Act”)—
