Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000

1 (1) In this Schedule— U.K.

(a) “an ordinary general election to the Scottish Parliament” means an election held under section 2 of the M1 Scotland Act 1998;

(b) “an extraordinary general election to the Scottish Parliament” means an election held under section 3 of the M2 Scotland Act 1998;

[F1 (c) “an ordinary general election to [F2 Senedd Cymru]” means an election under section 3 of the Government of Wales Act 2006;

(ca) “an extraordinary general election to [F3 Senedd Cymru]” means an election under section 5 of the Government of Wales Act 2006;]

(d) “an ordinary general election to the Northern Ireland Assembly” means an election held under section 31 of the M3 Northern Ireland Act 1998; and

(e) “an extraordinary general election to the Northern Ireland Assembly” means an election held under section 32 of the M4 Northern Ireland Act 1998.

(2) For the purposes of this Schedule a parliamentary general election is pending during the period—

(a) beginning with the date on which [F4 Parliament is dissolved F5 ... for a] parliamentary general election, and

(b) ending with the date of the poll for that election.
