6.—(1) A person who is disqualified under Part 5 (general provisions as to members and proceedings of local authorities) of the 1972 Act from being elected or being a member of a local authority shall be disqualified from being a member of the joint committee.
(2) Section 92 of the 1972 Act (proceedings for disqualification)(1), with the exception of subsections (7), (7A), (7B) and (8), shall apply with respect to membership of, or claims to be entitled to act as a member of, the joint committee as it applies to membership of, or claims to be entitled to act as a member of, a local authority.
Section 92 was amended by sections 37, 38 and 46 of the Criminal Justice Act 1982 (c.48).
