Citation, commencement and interpretation

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Medical Profession (Miscellaneous Amendments) Order 2008 (Commencement No. 4) Order of Council 2012.

(2) In this Order, “the Order” means the Medical Profession (Miscellaneous Amendments) Order 2008 and “the Act” means the Medical Act 1983(1).

(3) The provisions of the Order set out in article 2 shall come into force on 3rd of December 2012 immediately after the commencement of —

(a)article 10 of the Medical Act 1983 (Amendment) Order 2002(2) (licence to practise and revalidation) in so far as it relates to sections 29A(4)(d) (regulations as to licence to practise and revalidation) and 29C (dealing with questions as to impairment of fitness to practise) of the Act; and

(b)article 65 (and article 2 in so far as it relates to article 65) of the Medical Act 1983 (Amendment) and Miscellaneous Amendments Order 2006(3).
