3.—(1) The poll for the ordinary elections of councillors for any ward of the city that would otherwise be held on the ordinary day of election in 2022 is to be held instead on the ordinary day of election in 2023.
(2) A councillor who would otherwise, pursuant to section 7 of the Local Government Act 1972(1) (elections of councillors), retire on the fourth day after the ordinary day of election in 2022 is instead to retire on the fourth day after the ordinary day of election in 2023; and the councillor’s term of office is extended accordingly.
1972 c. 70. Relevant amendments were made by the Local Government Act 1985 (c. 51), Schedule 16, and the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007 (c. 28), section 54(1) and Schedule 18.
