1. This Order may be cited as the Community Relations (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) Order 1975 … Commencement …
2.—(1) The Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954 [1954 c.33] shall apply to Article 1 and the following provisions of this Order as it applies to a Measure of the Northern Ireland Assembly.
(2) In this Order “Department” includes the Head of a Department.

(2) F1...[F1 The Department of Finance and Personnel]F1 shall be responsible for formulating and sponsoring policies for the improvement of community relations in Northern Ireland.
(3) Without prejudice to the generality of paragraph (2), the powers of[F1 the Department of Finance of Personnel]F1 under that paragraph include—
(a)giving financial or other assistance to any persons or organisations appearing to[F1 the Department of Finance and Personnel]F1 to be concerned with community relations; and
(b)giving financial assistance towards the conduct of research into community relations.

(5) In paragraphs (2) and (3) any reference to community relations shall be construed as including a reference to any matter connected with or affecting those relations.
