1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Social Security (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Northern Ireland) Order 1977.
(2) The Social Security (Northern Ireland) Acts 1975 and this Order may be cited together as the Social Security (Northern Ireland) Acts 1975 to 1977.

2.—(1) The Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954 [1954 c.33] shall apply to Article 1 and the following provisions of this Order as it applies to a Measure of the Northern Ireland Assembly.
(2) In this Order—

“the Department” means the Department of Health and Social Services;

“prescribed” means prescribed by regulations;

19.—[F1(1) Section 165(4), (5) and (10) of the Social Security Administration (Northern Ireland) Act 1992 shall have effect as if references to that Act included references to this Order.
(2) A power under any of sections 116 to 119 of the Social Security Contributions and Benefits (Northern Ireland) Act 1992 or sections 153 to 155 of the Social Security Administration (Northern Ireland) Act 1992 to make provision by regulations or order for modifications or adaptations of those Acts shall be exercisable in relation to any provision in this Order.]
