The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Articles 4(10)(a) and 30(1) of the Juries (Northern Ireland) Order 1996(1) hereby makes the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Juries (Northern Ireland) Order 1996 (Amendment) Regulations 2003 and shall come into operation on 1st December 2003.
2. In Article 4(1) of the Juries (Northern Ireland) Order 1996(1) for the words “1st March” there shall be substituted the words “15th December”.

These Regulations amend the Juries (Northern Ireland) Order 1996.
Regulation 2 amends Article 4(1) of the 1996 Order to provide that within the period of 14 days immediately preceeding 15th December each year the Chief Electoral Officer shall arraange for the selection of a sufficient number of jurors from the electoral register to enable the empanelling of such juries as may be required for that year.
