The Local Government (General Grant) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2005

To be laid before Parliament under paragraph 7(3) of the Schedule to the Northern Ireland Act 2000

Coming into operation

1st May 2005

The Department of the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 4 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Northern Ireland) Order 2002(1) after consultation with such district councils and other such interested bodies or persons as the Department considers appropriate in accordance with Article 4(7) of that Order, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Local Government (General Grant) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2005 and shall come into operation on 1st May 2005.

Amendment

2.  In regulation 4 of the Local Government (General Grant) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2003(2) (general grant) for “31st March in each third successive financial year thereafter” there shall be substituted “31st March 2005 and 31st March in each successive year thereafter.”.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Regulations.)

These Regulations amend regulation 4 of the Local Government (General Grant) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2003 to permit the Department to use data based on information available on 31st March 2005 and on 31st March in each successive year thereafter.
