ROAD TRAFFIC AND VEHICLES

The Department of the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 65(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1981(1) and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following By-Laws:
1. These By-Laws may be cited as the Motor Hackney Carriages (Belfast) (Amendment) By-Laws (Northern Ireland) 2005 and shall come into operation on 18th June 2005.
2. In the Schedule to the By-Laws made in respect of Motor Hackney Carriages standing or plying for hire made by the Council of the County Borough of Belfast on 4th June 1951(2), after the entry for Malone Road there shall be added –
“MAYS MEADOW | North Side: from a point approximately 36 metres west of the south kerbline of East Bridge Street for a distance of 95 metres in a westerly direction. Carriages shall stand in a single line by the kerbline and parallel therewith. | 16 | At any time”. |

These By-Laws further amend the Schedule to the Motor Hackney Carriages (Belfast) By-Laws made by the Council of the County Borough of Belfast on 4th June 1951 by making provision for a new taxi stand at Mays Meadow.
