The Department for Social Development makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 82(4), 85(4), 86A, 90(b), 114(1), 121(5) and 171(1) and (3) of, and paragraph 6(1)(b) and (5) of Schedule 7 to, the Social Security Contributions and Benefits (Northern Ireland) Act 1992(1) and sections 1(1C) and 165(1) and (4) of the Social Security Administration (Northern Ireland) Act 1992(2) and now vested in it(3).

1992 c. 7; Section 82(4) was amended by paragraph 89(c) of Schedule 24 to the Civil Partnership Act 2004 (c. 33) and paragraph 31 of Schedule 1 to the Child Benefit Act 2005 (c. 6). Section 85(4) was amended by paragraph 14(d) of Schedule 2 to the Pensions (Northern Ireland) Order 1995 (S.I. 1995/3213 (N.I. 22) and paragraph 91(6) of Schedule 24 to the Civil Partnership Act 2004. Section 86A was inserted by Article 4(4) of the Social Security (Incapacity for Work) (Northern Ireland) Order 1994 (S.I. 1994/1898 (N.I. 12)). Section 90 was amended by paragraph 25 of Schedule 8 to the Welfare Reform and Pensions (Northern Ireland) Order 1999 (S.I. 1999/3147 (N.I. 11)), Schedule 6 to the Tax Credits Act 2002 (c. 21) and Article 2(2)(a)(iv) of S.R. 2002 No. 321. Section 114(1) was amended by paragraph 33(2) of Schedule 1 to the Child Benefit Act 2005. Section 171(1) was amended by paragraph 5 of Schedule 4 to the Tax Credits Act 2002. Paragraph 6(1)(b) of Schedule 7 was amended by paragraph 105(4)(a) of Schedule 24 to the Civil Partnership Act 2004 and paragraph 42(4) of Schedule 1 to the Child Benefit Act 2005

Section 165(1) was amended by paragraph 49(2) of Schedule 3 to the Social Security Contributions (Transfer of Functions, etc.) (Northern Ireland) Order 1999 (S.I. 1999/671)
