The Council of the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred upon it by Article 5(1)(f) of the Pharmacy (Northern Ireland) Order 1976(1). The Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety(2) has approved these Regulations in accordance with Article 5(2) of that Order.

Citation and commencement

1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland (General) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2006 and shall come into operation on 1^st July 2006.

(1) In these Regulations “the principal regulations” means the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland (General) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1994(3).

Amendment of the principal regulations

2.  Schedule 1 of the principal regulations (Form of Declaration), shall be amended as follows—

(a) At the end of paragraph 1(b) there shall be inserted the word “or”;

(b) After paragraph 1 (b) there shall be added the following sub-paragraph—

“(c) a pharmaceutical department of a Northern Ireland hospital, in which a registered person is employed full time, for a period of not less than twelve months.”

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

These Regulations amend the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland (General) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1994 (S.R. 1994 No.202) by adding a further category of place approved for the completion of approved courses of pharmaceutical pre-registration training.
