The Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 1(3) of the Food Benefit Schemes (Northern Ireland) Order 2003(1).
1. This Order may be cited as the Food Benefit Schemes (2003 Order) (Commencement) Order (Northern Ireland) 2006.
Commencement Information
I1Art. 1 in operation at made date
2.—(1) Subject to paragraph (2) the day appointed for the coming into operation of Article 3 of the Food Benefit Schemes (Northern Ireland) Order 2003 shall be 27th November 2006.
(2) Paragraph (1) does not apply in the case of milk supplied in exchange for a milk token before 27th November 2006.]

This Order brings into operation on 6th November 2006 Article 3 of the Food Benefit Schemes (Northern Ireland) Order 2003; which provides for the replacement of the welfare food schemes under Article 13 of the Social Security (Northern Ireland) Order 1988.
