1. This Order may be cited as the Superannuation) (Commissioner for Older People for Northern Ireland) Order (Northern Ireland) 2011, shall come into operation on 30th December 2011 and shall have effect from 8th February 2011.
2. There shall be added to the offices listed in Schedule 1 to the Superannuation (Northern Ireland) Order 1972, the office of Commissioner for Older People for Northern Ireland(3).

This Order adds the office of Commissioner of Older People for Northern Ireland to the offices listed in Schedule 1 to the Superannuation (Northern Ireland) Order 1972 for which the Department of Finance and Personnel may make pension schemes. It has retrospective effect by virtue of Article 3(7) of that Order.

The office of the Commissioner for older people for Northern Ireland was established under section 1 of the Commissioner for Older People Act (Northern Ireland) 2011 (C.I.(N.I.))
